1. Cognitive & Intellectual Ability
Used to measure reasoning, memory, processing speed and general intelligence. Applied in clinical, educational, occupational and legal settings.
WAIS-IV — Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Gold-standard IQ assessment for adults. Measures verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory and processing speed. Used in clinical diagnosis, occupational selection and legal proceedings.
WISC-V — Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children Comprehensive cognitive assessment for children aged 6–16. Identifies intellectual giftedness, learning disabilities and developmental delays. Widely used in schools and child psychology.
WPPSI-IV — Wechsler Preschool & Primary Scale of Intelligence Cognitive assessment for young children aged 2.5–7. Early identification of developmental concerns and school readiness.
Raven’s Progressive Matrices (SPM / APM) Non-verbal reasoning test measuring abstract thinking and fluid intelligence. Language and culture neutral — particularly relevant in African and multilingual contexts. Used extensively in occupational screening.
RBANS — Repeatable Battery for Neuropsychological Status Screens for cognitive decline and neuropsychological impairment. Used with adults and older populations in clinical and medical settings.
CogAT — Cognitive Abilities Test Group-administered test of reasoning ability in verbal, quantitative and spatial domains. Common in school systems for gifted programme placement.
2. Personality Assessment
Used to understand personality structure, traits, patterns and disorder presentations. Applied in clinical therapy, organisational settings and research.
MMPI-3 — Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory The most widely used clinical personality assessment in the world. Measures psychopathology, personality traits and treatment considerations. Used in clinical diagnosis, forensic evaluation and occupational screening for high-stakes roles.
MMPI-2-RF — Restructured Form A shorter, restructured version of the MMPI-2. Widely used in forensic, medical and occupational contexts.
PAI — Personality Assessment Inventory Assesses personality and psychopathology in adults. Covers clinical scales including anxiety, depression, somatic complaints, paranoia, borderline features and aggression. Used in clinical and forensic settings.
NEO-PI-3 — NEO Personality Inventory Measures the Five Factor Model of personality: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism. Widely used in occupational and research settings.
16PF — Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire Measures 16 primary personality traits. Popular in occupational psychology, leadership development and career counselling.
MBTI — Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (note: research use, not clinical diagnosis) Classifies personality into 16 types based on Jungian theory. Widely used in organisational development and team building. Not a clinical diagnostic tool.
Rorschach Inkblot Test (R-PAS) Projective personality assessment. Examines perception, thinking style and personality organisation. Used in clinical and forensic settings by trained psychologists.
TAT — Thematic Apperception Test Projective test using ambiguous images to elicit narratives. Reveals unconscious thoughts, motivations and relational patterns. Used in clinical and research settings.

Used to diagnose attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and related executive function difficulties across the lifespan.
Conners-3 — Conners’ Rating Scales Multi-informant rating scales for ADHD assessment in children and adolescents. Includes parent, teacher and self-report forms.
Conners’ Adult ADHD Rating Scales (CAARS) Self and observer rating scales for adult ADHD. Assesses inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity and self-concept.
BASC-3 — Behavior Assessment System for Children Comprehensive assessment of emotional, behavioural and adaptive functioning in children. Used alongside ADHD assessment and in school-based evaluations.
BRIEF-2 — Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function Measures executive function and self-regulation in everyday environments. Used in ADHD, autism and acquired brain injury assessments.
T.O.V.A. — Test of Variables of Attention Computerised continuous performance test measuring attention and impulse control. Used as an objective measure in ADHD evaluation.
QbTest Objective, computerised ADHD assessment measuring activity, attention and impulsivity simultaneously. Increasingly used in clinical and psychiatric settings.
4. Anxiety & Mood Assessments
Used to screen, diagnose and monitor the severity of anxiety disorders, depression and related mood conditions.
PHQ-9 — Patient Health Questionnaire Nine-item screening tool for depression severity. Widely used in primary care and therapy intake. Quick, validated and free to use.
GAD-7 — Generalised Anxiety Disorder Scale Seven-item scale measuring anxiety severity. Standard screening tool in clinical and occupational health settings.
BAI — Beck Anxiety Inventory Measures the severity of anxiety symptoms in adults. Distinguishes anxiety from depression. Used in therapy monitoring.
BDI-II — Beck Depression Inventory Twenty-one item self-report measuring depression severity. One of the most widely used depression measures in clinical practice.
HAM-A — Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale Clinician-administered scale assessing anxiety severity across somatic and psychological domains.
HAM-D — Hamilton Depression Rating Scale Clinician-rated scale for depression severity. Used in clinical trials and treatment monitoring.
MADRS — Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale Sensitive to change in depression severity. Commonly used in treatment outcome monitoring.
PCL-5 — PTSD Checklist Twenty-item self-report measure of PTSD symptom severity, aligned to DSM-5 criteria. Used in trauma therapy intake and monitoring.

CAPS-5 — Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale The gold-standard structured diagnostic interview for PTSD. Clinician-administered. Used in formal diagnosis and research.
ACE Questionnaire — Adverse Childhood Experiences Measures exposure to childhood trauma and adversity. Predicts long-term psychological and physical health outcomes.
TSI-2 — Trauma Symptom Inventory Measures the psychological impact of traumatic events including PTSD, depression, anxiety, dissociation and impaired functioning.
DAPS — Detailed Assessment of Posttraumatic Stress Comprehensive assessment of trauma exposure, PTSD symptoms and associated features. Used in clinical and forensic settings.
6. Autism Spectrum Assessments
Used to identify and diagnose autism spectrum disorder in children and adults.
ADOS-2 — Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule The gold-standard observational assessment for autism. Clinician-administered across five modules covering different developmental and language levels.
ADI-R — Autism Diagnostic Interview — Revised Structured parent/caregiver interview for autism diagnosis. Used alongside ADOS-2 for comprehensive assessment.
AQ — Autism Spectrum Quotient Self-report screening tool for autism traits in adults of normal intelligence. Used as a first-stage screen prior to full assessment.
RAADS-R — Ritvo Autism & Asperger Diagnostic Scale Self-report scale for autism assessment in adults. Particularly useful for identifying autism in adults who have been previously undiagnosed.
SRS-2 — Social Responsiveness Scale Measures the severity of autism spectrum symptoms in a social context. Used with children and adults. Multi-informant forms available.

16PF — Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire Measures personality traits relevant to work behaviour, leadership and interpersonal style. Widely used in selection and development.
OPQ32 — Occupational Personality Questionnaire Designed specifically for the workplace. Measures 32 personality characteristics relevant to job performance, leadership and team roles. Used in senior selection and development centres.
Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) Measures normal personality characteristics predictive of job performance. Used in selection, leadership development and team building.
Hogan Development Survey (HDS) Identifies personality-based risk factors — the “dark side” of personality that emerges under stress and can derail careers. Used in executive development.
Hogan Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) Assesses core values, goals and interests that drive behaviour. Used alongside HPI and HDS for comprehensive occupational profiling.
Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal Measures critical thinking ability — analysis, inference, interpretation and evaluation. Used in selection for roles requiring complex decision-making.
SHL Verify — Ability Tests Numerical, verbal and inductive reasoning tests used in graduate and professional recruitment. Widely used by large organisations globally.
MBTI — Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Used in team building, communication training and leadership development. Not a clinical tool — used purely in organisational contexts.
Emotional Intelligence Assessments (EQ-i 2.0) Measures emotional intelligence across five composite areas: self-perception, self-expression, interpersonal skills, decision-making and stress management. Used in leadership and coaching contexts.

- MBI — Maslach Burnout Inventory: measures exhaustion, depersonalisation and reduced personal accomplishment across professional groups

Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery Comprehensive battery assessing a wide range of cognitive and neuropsychological functions. Used in forensic and medical settings.
Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery Assesses a broad range of neuropsychological functions based on Luria’s theory of brain organisation.
Trail Making Test (TMT) Measures visual attention, task-switching and processing speed. Used in screening for neuropsychological impairment.
Stroop Color and Word Test Measures cognitive flexibility, processing speed and response inhibition. Used in attention and executive function assessment.
Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT) Assesses verbal memory, learning rate and susceptibility to interference. Used in dementia screening and neuropsychological evaluation.
Rey-Osterrieth Complex Figure Test Measures visuospatial ability, memory and executive function. Used in neuropsychological and learning disability assessment.
MoCA — Montreal Cognitive Assessment Brief screening tool for mild cognitive impairment and dementia. Administered in approximately 10 minutes. Widely used in clinical and medical settings.

Gottman Relationship Checkup Comprehensive online assessment of relationship health across multiple domains. Used in couples therapy intake and treatment planning.
DAS — Dyadic Adjustment Scale Measures relationship quality and satisfaction in couples. Used in couples therapy and research.
FACES-IV — Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale Assesses family functioning across cohesion and flexibility dimensions. Used in family therapy and research.
PSI-4 — Parenting Stress Index Measures stress in the parent-child system. Used in parenting assessments, child custody evaluations and family therapy.
